"Outdoor Alabama" Debuts to National Audience

"Outdoor Alabama," the Department of Conservation’s newest effort to share the state’s natural resources with a national audience has made its debut. "Outdoor Alabama" can be seen every Friday at 6:30 p.m. CST on The Outdoor Channel.

Upcoming shows will feature state parks, hunting and fishing excursions around the state and a variety of informative facts about Alabama’s great outdoors. The April 16 show will highlight red snapper fishing on the coast as well as the Alabama Marine Resources Division’s red snapper spawning program. Two other places on the coast will be featured as well – Gulf State Park and Weeks Bay Reserve. The show ends with an exciting spring turkey hunt.

The 30-minute show is sponsored by the Alabama Conservation and Natural Resources Foundation, with major funding provided by ALFA Insurance and the Alabama Farmers Federation, Alabama Power, the Alabama Forests Forever Foundation, and the Alabama Bureau of Tourism and Travel.

If The Outdoor Channel is not available on the local cable system, individuals should call and request it or see their local satellite retailer.
