Art Without LimitsWeeks Bay Reserve and Eastern Shore Art Center teamed up in the summer of 2008 to develop and implement a new program, called "Art Without Limits". Art Without Limits is designed to target a wide range of students including underserved populations such as limited income and special needs students. Over several days, students are given the opportunity to get their hands dirty as they explore the wonders of the Weeks Bay Watershed with the help of staff from the Reserve. Groups spend the days seining for critters, taking boat rides, observing nature, and tasting and smelling plants and fruits, while taking notes and drawings of things encountered. After experiencing nature first-hand, the students return to the classroom to express their experiences through various mediums of art under the guidance of staff from the Eastern Shore Art Center. After being displayed at Weeks Bay, each art piece is exhibited at the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope.Read the article from Baldwin County Newspaper
